Anxiety
Anxiety is worry, fear, or apprehension about future events or situations. It can show up as both psychological and physical symptoms, and it often leads people to avoid the situations that set it off.

Common signs
- Persistent worry about everyday situations that feels difficult to control
- Physical symptoms such as rapid heartbeat, sweating, or muscle tension
- Avoidance of situations that trigger anxiety, impacting daily life
How Athamind can help
We work with adults. Care is fully virtual and available across Ontario, with no office to travel to.
When anxiety is the concern, we recommend a Full Comprehensive Assessment. If depression, trauma, or ADHD is also part of the question, the ADHD Assessment looks at ADHD only. The written report from a comprehensive assessment can support accommodation requests.
Psychotherapy for anxiety is ongoing 50-minute sessions. The work draws on approaches such as CBT and ACT, and it is about coping with worry and the situations you have been avoiding. It is not an evaluation, and it does not include a diagnostic report.
