Trauma
A deeply distressing event can keep affecting your sense of safety, and the way you think and feel, well after it's over. This includes post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) and other trauma-related conditions.

Common signs
- Intrusive memories, flashbacks, or nightmares related to traumatic events
- Heightened stress response and difficulty feeling safe
- Changes in mood, thinking patterns, and relationships with others
How Athamind can help
We work with adults. Care is fully virtual and available across Ontario, with no office to travel to.
When trauma is part of what you want understood, we recommend a Full Comprehensive Assessment. That evaluation can also look at anxiety, depression, or ADHD when those are part of the same question. The ADHD Assessment is only for ADHD.
Trauma-informed psychotherapy is separate from that evaluation. Sessions are 50 minutes and focus on safety, symptoms, and day-to-day coping. You can book therapy without an assessment.
